The Heritage Carousel is run by the Des Moines Carousel Foundation as a not-for-profit, with the mission to keep it affordable and accessible to all. We’re proud to keep ride prices at .50 cents per child!
The Heritage Carousel is a not-for-profit organization overseen by the Des Moines Carousel Foundation. Patron and donor support are used to:
Maintain & operate this authentic Carousel so that many can enjoy this nostalgic and affordable form of entertainment.
Support the ongoing maintenance of the band organ, pavilion, and painting of both the animals and the Carousel.
Provide and help fund engaging activities and family-friendly events like Clowns at the Carousel, Cruise to the Carousel Car Show, National Carousel Day, and events in conjunction with the Iowa Arts Council and the city libraries.
Provide discounted usage fees to school groups and non-profit organizations.
We conduct an annual appeal fundraising campaign each year.
