January Riders – First Time In Heritage Carousel History!
 The sunshine, lack of snow and warm temperatures just made it seem like Carousel riding time -
And lots of others thought so too!
Over 1000 free rides were given on
Saturday, January 7th from 1-3 p.m.

Thank You Rollin’ Relics Car Club!
 A donation of $5000 was made to the Des Moines Carousel Foundation at the November car club meeting. Several Foundation board members were in attendance (along with a few extra supporters) to receive the check. This was the 11th year for the “Cruise to the Carousel” a car show organized by theRollin’ Relics Car Club to benefit the Heritage Carousel.  Thank you to all the club members who put in many months of organizing and many hours the day of the show making certain it goes smoothly! The Club is the largest annual contributor to the Carousel. Their contribution helps with maintenance of the Carousel and helps keep the cost of a child’s ride at just 50 cents.

Union Park Rocket Slide
After several weeks of being closed for extensive painting, the rocket slide was re-opened in late August.
The freshly painted slide closely replicates the original look when it was first placed in the park in the late ‘60’s or early 1970’s.
